Vinzent, l’intendant du château, donna un bal noir et blanc dans la salle des Chevaliers fraîchement restaurée : chacun portait une seule couleur et, sur le sol de marbre en damier, ne marchait que sur les cases de cette couleur. Quand les cloches sonnèrent minuit, Vinzent fut retrouvé mort dans la salle de la cheminée. Neuf personnes se trouvaient au château.
