Alle nove e mezza Vid, il portinaio che conosceva ogni chiave e ogni segreto della casa, è stato trovato morto nella lavanderia fumante, accanto al mangano. In questa casa nessuno dice una parola sulla stanza in cui si trova – ma tutti sorvegliano le altre stanze attraverso le porte aperte.
