استفتاءً تجريبيًا بعَلَمَي الحزبين: في كل غرفة كان فيها أحد الحزبين أكثر عددًا من الآخر رُفع علمه – وحيث لم يكن أي منهما أكثر عددًا لم يُعلَّق أي علم. أما المستقلون فلم يُحسبوا لأحد. قبيل منتصف الليل عُثر على Velda، التي كانت وحدها تعرف النتائج الأولى، ميتة في غرفتها، بجانب مكتب؛ ولم يكن في الغرفة معها أحد سوى قاتلها. اقرأ كل إفادة، واقرأ الأعلام، وجد مربع كل شخص – واكشف
