Gegen Abend wurde Vinzenz, der alte Imker, der hier seit fünfzig Jahren Bienen gehalten hatte, tot in der Scheune gefunden, neben dem mit Honigwaben beladenen Karren. Acht Personen waren auf dem Hof: die vier Imker und vier Besucher des Tags der offenen Tür. Einer von ihnen ist der Mörder.
