Ο Valér, ο διευθυντής της παραλίας, ήξερε τα μικρά μυστικά όλων – ποιος νοίκιαζε δωμάτια χωρίς άδεια, ποιος άλλαζε δυτικογερμανικά μάρκα κάτω από τις λεύκες. Μέσα στη ζέστη του απογεύματος βρέθηκε στην ενοικίαση βαρκών, δίπλα στο εκδοτήριο εισιτηρίων.
