Saturday night at the Pixel Lounge, the town’s gaming café. The LAN tournament has just reached its grand final when the lights flicker and the servers reboot – and when the screens come back, Vance, the reigning champion, is found dead in the Streaming Booth. Seven people were in the café: four players and three members of staff. One of them is the killer. Read every statement, find everyone’s square on the floor plan and unmask the murderer – alone with Vance in the Streaming Booth.

Rules

1. Every row and every column holds exactly one person. As soon as you place someone, cross out their whole row and column.
2. “Beside” = directly left, right, above or below, and in the same area. Squares with objects (gaming PCs, arcade cabinets, the counter…) cannot be occupied; the gaming chairs, the bar stools, the sofa and the beanbags can.
3. Directions refer to rows, not to the same column: “she was north of Axel” = in a row further up, in any column.
4. The murderer was alone with the victim: nobody else was in that area.

• Axel (speedrunner): He was beside a gaming PC.
• Bella (streamer): She was beside the vending machine.
• Colin (pro player): He was sitting in a gaming chair.
• Dana (cosplayer): She was on a beanbag, alone in her area.
• Elsa (café owner): She was north of Axel.
• Fabio (barista): He was alone in his area.
• Gemma (tournament caster): She was in the last row.
• Vance (reigning champion): The victim. He was found in the Streaming Booth – alone with the murderer.
