The Wreck Dive

A group is diving the old wreck in Kalimera Bay, twenty metres down. When the divers surface, one of them is missing: Vince is found dead on the wreck. Six people were at the dive site – four divers in the water and two crew on the surface. One of them is the killer. Read every statement and find everyone’s exact position on the map. The killer was alone with the victim, in the same area.

Rules

1. The divers – Amber, Brian, Carl, Dora and Vince – were in the water (Reef, Open Water or Wreck). The crew – Eric and Fiona – were on the surface (Dive Boat or Jetty).
2. Every row and every column holds exactly one person. As soon as you place someone, cross out their whole row and column.
3. “Beside” = directly left, right, above or below, and in the same area. Squares with objects (helm, tanks, corals, the wreck’s cannon…) cannot be occupied; the bench and every free square can.
4. Directions refer to rows, not to the same column: “she was north of Amber” = in a row further up, in any column.

Statements

• Amber (diver): She was on the Reef, beside a coral.
• Brian (diver): He was beside the dive buoy.
• Carl (diver): He was beside the treasure chest.
• Dora (diver): She was on the Reef, but not beside a coral. She was north of Amber.
• Eric (captain): He was on the Dive Boat. He was not sitting.
• Fiona (dive guide): She was on the Jetty.
• Vince (victim): The Victim. He was alone with the murderer.
